  • As the 5th anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting approaches, the Catherine Violet Hubbard Foundation held its inaugural gala.  Catherine, a victim of the attack, will be remembered with the construction of a 34-acre animal sanctuary.    Funds raised at the gala will go toward the first phase of the project.  The event was held at RCG Farm in Newtown, CT, on December 2 and was attended by hundreds of guests.  Among the special guests at the gala was Foundation board member Gretchen Carlson, who served as emcee.   • On November 15th Golenbock Eiseman Assor Bell & Peskoe hosted approximately 30 attorneys from the American Foreign Law Association, who were in New York for a gathering of the association.  The AFLA’s primary purpose has been to promote the understanding and application of foreign, comparative and international law, to cooperate with other professional organizations involved in such fields and to support relevant legal research and writing.  GEABP Partner Martin Siegel presided at the meeting, which included an update on Brexit.  “Since our firm does a fair amount of cross-border financing and litigation” Siegel stated, “the lunch was an excellent opportunity to make new friends and to reconnect with those whom we’ve been working with for a while.”
