Mr. Hyman is a general commercial litigator who, for more than 30 years, has counseled many private and public companies (as well as individuals), and has handled a wide range of cases from trial through appeal. He has represented companies and executives in a variety of industries, including consumer electronics, sports and entertainment, banking and other financial services, retailing, insurance, food, chemicals, health care, luxury goods, cosmetics, avionics, publishing and trade associations.

In recent cases handled by Mr. Hyman, his client was awarded:

  • A jury verdict and sanctions in defense of a Title VII case filed in federal court in Florida.
  • Dismissal of a nine-count counterclaim in a contract and trademark infringement action filed in federal court in Virginia.
  • Summary judgment in a breach of contract/warranty action filed in state court in Ohio.
  • A preliminary injunction for a Hall of Fame baseball player in an infringement action filed in federal court in New York.
  • Reversal of a multi-million dollar jury verdict and eventual dismissal of all claims in a contract and tort action filed in state court in California.
  • A permanent injunction after trial in a case filed in federal court in New York against an international soccer association (case later settled).
  • Summary judgment dismissing all tort and contract claims in an action filed in federal court in Minnesota.
  • A multi-million dollar partial summary judgment in an action against a major professional athletes association filed in New York state court (remainder of case settled).
